In the second photo, PM Modi is sitting with folded hands and the priest is applying tilak on his forehead. Whereas, in the third photo, he is saluting God from outside the temple.

PM Modi has been made the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate for the third time from Varanasi parliamentary constituency. On reaching Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport in Babatpur in Kashi, he was welcomed by many prominent BJP leaders including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Along with the Prime Minister, State Chief Minister Adityanath was also present in the Kashi Vishwanath temple. Hands were folded inside the Modi temple right from the main gate and during this time Adityanath was walking behind him. In the temple, the priests performed the puja amidst chanting of mantras and Modi worshiped Kashi Vishwanath as per the rituals. The priest also applied sandalwood paste on the Prime Minister’s forehead. Just a day after Shivratri, Modi, who reached Baba Vishwanath for darshan, performed Rudrabhishek.

Along with the echo of bells, Modi also performed the Aarti of Kashi Vishwanath and offered flowers. He also decorated Kashi Vishwanath. The priests blessed Modi by giving him a garment and garlanding him. The priest also tied Raksha Sutra to Prime Minister Modi amidst chanting of mantras. Officials said that by offering prayers and parikrama in the temple, the Prime Minister wished for public welfare. On his return, Modi welcomed the excited public by showing his trident. Devotees gathered at Kashi Vishwanath temple raised slogans of ‘Modi-Modi’. Modi will stay for the night at BLW Guest House. On the second day of the tour, on March 10, we will leave for Azamgarh from Bareka helipad at around 10 am.
